Floor Drain Core
Encased in a clear polycarbonate housing, a copper magnetic valve sits inside. Under water flow, the copper petals swing open to about 90 degrees; once the water stops, magnets snap them shut to form an airtight seal, preventing sewer gas, roaches, drain flies and ants from climbing up.
A detachable copper basket at the top acts as a built-in hair filter, catching hair and grit before they reach the pipe. It’s removable—pull it out, dump it, and drop it back in in roughly 10 seconds. The box includes two ribbed sealing rings for 32–42mm and 42–45mm drain openings to deliver a tight wedge fit in standard floor drains.
Water flow forces the petals apart to allow full passage; when the flow ends, opposing magnets draw the arms together to create an airtight seal. This is a mechanical seal that closes every time, not a rubber flap that can warp over time.
Three steps, about 60 seconds, no tools required.
- Pull out the existing drain strainer and clear any visible hair or debris.
- Choose the sealing ring that matches your drain (32–42mm or 42–45mm), slide it onto DrainGuard, and press the insert straight down into the drain opening.
- Run water. The copper petals open, water flows through, and the petals snap shut, reducing the smell the same day.
