Twin anodized aluminum rails clamp on both faces of the workpiece, locking the cut line so the router runs dead-parallel along the edge without drift or grain skating.

Sturdy aluminum rails, a clear acrylic collar, and knurled steel thumbscrews keep the jig rigid under use. The rails stay flush against the workpiece, and the acrylic base resists impact and resin so nothing moves during cutting.
Three-step setup: insert the router into the acrylic collar and tighten the side clamp until the barrel is locked in place. Position the twin rails against both faces and tighten the four thumbscrews to fix the bit’s distance. Then plunge and run from one stop mark to the other for a mortise that fits on the first pass. In practice, you can move from box to first cut in under two minutes with a little familiarity.
