Lock Your Shade Net Tight Through Wind and Weather

IronClasp grips the mesh with barb-thorn pins and locks two discs together using twin bolts, trapping the fabric between for a secure hold that withstands wind, rain, and sun across a full season.

Product demonstration

Traditional fasteners often fail as gusts lift the cloth, causing zip ties to cut into the weave, S-hooks to loosen, paracord to slip through grommets, and holes to widen over time. IronClasp aims to eliminate those recurring issues by relying on a mechanical lock rather than simple friction.

Product demonstration

Barb-thorn pins penetrate the mesh and grip between strands, so the clip won’t back out like a zip tie. The front disc’s two posts snap into corresponding sockets on the back disc, securing the halves together with the fabric captured in between.

Made from UV-stable polypropylene, the clips resist becoming brittle in summer sun or cracking in winter cold, maintaining the same level of grip throughout the year.

What You Get

  • A shade net that stays taut: no sag in the middle and corners remain firmly anchored.
  • No more torn mesh: barb pins push between strands rather than cutting through them, extending the life of the netting.
  • Reusable year after year: detach, store away, and clip back on next season; UV-stable so they don’t become brittle.

Pack Includes: 50 × IronClasp Clips (each is a 2-piece front + back disc set). Size per clip: 2.83 in × 1.10 in (7.2 cm × 2.8 cm). Works on mesh shade cloth, knit shade netting, agricultural netting, greenhouse mesh, and garden trellis netting. Not for solid tarps, vinyl sheeting, or canvas sail shades, which are too thick for the barbs to pass through.

What Matters

  • Grip on Mesh: Barb pins hook between strands, whereas zip ties cut into the weave and widen holes.
  • Holds in Wind: Twin-bolt mechanical lock versus friction-only that can slip over time.
  • Reusability: Unclip, store, and reuse next season versus cutting and replacing each install.

Three Steps to a Shade Net That Stays Put

  1. Position the front disc on top of your shade net where you want to anchor it.
  2. Press the back disc onto the underside — the barb pins push through the mesh and the twin bolts snap into their sockets.
  3. Thread paracord, bungee, or zip tie through the open ring and tie off to your frame, post, or fence.

Will IronClasp work on your shade cloth? It’s compatible with any mesh shade cloth—30%, 50%, 70%, and even 90% knit shade, plus agricultural netting and most garden trellis netting. Solid tarps, vinyl, and canvas won’t work because the barb pins require open mesh to pass through.

For a typical 10×10 ft shade panel, plan one clip every 18–24 inches along each edge, usually 16–20 clips total. A 50-pack covers two to three average panels with spare clips in reserve.

To reuse after the season, pry the discs apart with a screwdriver at the end of the year and store them in a shed, then clip them back on when the next season starts.
